Indoor Family Activities to Get You Through Coronavirus

Staying home and social distancing can be difficult when we’re so used to being on the go, as a society. This is a great time to have some fun with your family and do activities together that make this time memorable for both you and your kids in a positive way. Here’s our list of indoor family activities to keep you busy during coronavirus.

Fashion show – Dig out the old clothes and the rarely worn items from the back of your closet and put on a fashion show in your funky finds.

Baking and cooking – Now is a perfect time to cook or bake with your kids, especially if you rarely have time to cook with your kids otherwise. They’ll learn new skills and you’ll make some yummy treats or meals you can enjoy together.

Grab a deck – Grab a deck of cards and teach your kids classic card games like Rummy, Golf and War.

Parade about – If you don’t have instruments, you can make some with simple items from around the house, dress up and have a parade.

Family fort – Grab extra blankets and sheets and use couch cushions, folding tables and other items to build a fort.

Game time – Break out the board games and card games such as chess, checkers, Candy Land, Clue, Cranium, Twister, Monopoly, Guess Who?, Jenga, Scrabble, dominoes, UNO, Yahtzee, Sorry, Scattergories, Pictionary, Connect 4, Trivial Pursuit (Family Edition), Family Feud or Exploding Kittens.

Video game time – Bring out the old gaming consoles and play a variety of games that are great for the whole family. Queue up games like Rock Band, Super Mario Party, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Carnival Island, Wii Party, Wii Sports Resort, Just Dance 2018, Overcooked or Disney Think Fast.

Movie marathon – Have a movie marathon of your family’s favorite Disney movies, Harry Potter series or The Chronicles of Narnia series.

Get crafty – Make slime, paint pictures, make paper bag puppets for a puppet show, learn origami, make tie dyed shirts or build a new world with Legos.

Indoor camp out – Set up tents in your living room for an indoor camp out. Have hot dogs, make smores and savor hot cocoa. Ghost stories optional.

Instead of going stir crazy being home away from the crowds and practicing social distancing, use the time to reconnect with your family and loved ones. These ideas are a great start to get you through coronavirus.
